Filming the game

App: sidelineHD

1

First time only: install the sidelineHD app and sign in with the account Curtis set you up with on the team.

2

Open sidelineHD and make sure you're signed in.

3

Go to the Schedule tab and find today's game card (opponent and time shown above it).

4

Tap the game card, then tap GO LIVE.

5

Select your camera (this phone) and tap Confirm.

6

Set the phone on the tripod, frame center ice, phone sideways (landscape).

7

You're live. Just keep the camera on the play and don't touch anything else.

8

When the game ends, open the app and tap to end the stream.

A few things to know

  • You are not responsible for the score. Someone else runs that from a separate device using a different link, it has nothing to do with your phone.
  • You will not see the scoreboard on your own screen while filming. The overlay only shows up on the actual broadcast, not on the camera view. That's normal, don't worry about it.
  • Tripod and charger are provided.
  • Make sure you have decent signal or wifi at the rink before puck drop. Test the app opens and shows today's game card before you get there if you can.

Thanks for filming, it makes the stream look pro.

7

Faceoffs: tap Won Faceoff or Lost Faceoff for the Rangers as they happen. (These don't affect the score, just the stats.)

8

Power play: check the Power Play box under whichever team has the advantage, uncheck it when the penalty ends.

9

Mistake? Tap Undo (top right) to undo the last thing you tapped.

10

Done for the game? Tap Exit (top left).

A few things to know

  • Goals and the score are the priority. Faceoffs, saves, and assists are nice to have, don't let them slow you down if the play is moving fast.
  • You need your own device, separate from whoever is filming. Don't share one phone between the two of you.
  • The bottom bar (Audio / Score / Settings / Share) switches views. Stay on Score during the game, that's the tab you want.
  • Settings > Scoreboard Position controls which side (left/right) the Rangers show up on in the stream overlay. This is a one-time setup thing, Curtis normally has it set already, so you shouldn't need to touch it.
